ARTIST'S STATEMENT

Process, progress, and constant improvement are the key ideas in my design routine. While craftsmanship is extremely important to me, I try hard to produce art that is not just a collection of “pretty images”. My goal is to create pieces that have a deeper meaning and message for the audience. The concepts that I developed in my work involve academically advanced ideas that are conceivable not only to professional graphic designers and artists but to the general public. To take a journey in art is to follow a path that never; you will never know all there is to know or see and discover all there is out there. You will find yourself 10 years down that path still discovering new things, getting excited and inspired by the most ordinary of things, question the media to which we are exposed, whether it be the design of a magazine or, a window display, the layout of a newspaper or even the shapes and lines of a shoe. For those of us that choose art, it is not a career or a hobby, but a passion, a way of life. We all see the world differently, and when I take a moment to look around me, my mind starts to buzz with ideas about my material surroundings. Typography, branding, and marketing are extremely important for every product not only as a source of information but also as a way of communicating with the public. They allow the graphic designer to express an idea in a visually appealing way that not only provides information but allows the audience to receive the message in a clever, entertaining, or humorous way. My artistic eye shines in opportunities to produce stunning and excellent work in a vast number of media, fine art, or design. Beyond creative work, I value learning and living an art-filled lifestyle while continuing to have an eye for “the best” and a heart for people.
