MAIDIE CLOWERS

"

Life has taught me that almost everything you love will change.  Your plans will change, your friends will change, even what brings you joy will change.  But, one thing has always been constant for me - art.  Through the ups and downs of life, creativity has been my outlet of expression and joy.  Art began as a source of comfort, joy, and peace.  When I was a child, drawings and paintings hung on the walls of my house, and occasionally decorated the actual walls of my house. At least, that’s where it all started.

Change is inevitable: even though art has been always present, my ideas of art have grown.  I have seen more and more how art can bring life to and build communities by emotionally impacting individuals.  My faith and my relationship with the Father have strongly influenced this perspective on art, beauty, and creativity.  Learning this perspective has not only taught me to see art in everyday life but to appreciate the influences we creators have on society.  Art is truly an element that brings community and life to those around us.  I aspire to share this perspective with others to promote joy and community through culture.

INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE

“I have the gift of neither the spoken nor the written word, especially if I have to say something about myself or my work. Whoever wants to know something about me -as an artist, the only notable thing- ought to look carefully at my pictures and try and see in them what I am and what I want to do.” – Gustav Klimt
